Adapted from Victor Hugo's epic novel of the same name, Les Miserables tells a sweeping story of an ex-convict seeking redemption while being hunted down by a righteous police officer for breaking his parole. Along the way, he and a variety of others characters are swept into a revolutionary period in France, where a group of young idealists makes their last stand at a street barricade.
